Foster A Dog For Us

Foster caregivers play a particularly vital role. Without fosters, we could not save nearly as many animals. Fostering truly saves lives. While we cannot save every dog in need, we can save many, many more with safe homes for dogs to stay in while they wait for their forever families.

While you are fostering an animal, SDFR pays for medical care and provides supplies to keep the dog comfortable and cozy; your responsibility is to provide love, feed, and perform day-to-day care for the animal, and maintain its home environment.

Currently, we only foster to locations along the I-5 corridor from S. Seattle to Bellingham, so dogs are within easy reach of potential adopters.

Fostering an animal could lead to an adoption by our fosters. Should you be fostering and wish to adopt, please contact our adoption coordinator to discuss that option. Volunteers are also essential and are the heartbeat of our rescue efforts.
